Lee J. Winchell

Lee J. Winchell, 35, of Colonie, NY, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1989, in Albany, NY, the son of Luva Marie Horton.

Lee graduated from Colonie Central High School in 2007 and belongs to the Alpha Ridaz MC. From a young age, Lee enjoyed paintball and stayed with it for many years. He loved traveling, fishing, going on hikes, and, most importantly, spending time with his son. He loved his family beyond what words could describe.

He is survived by his son Luke Winchell; his mother, Luva Marie Horton; his two sisters, Leeann Winchell and Miranda Winchell, his grandmother Luva Horton, his aunts Denise Horton, and Diane (Dan) Lawyer; his first cousin, Ashlee (Justin) Pestuglicci, and his best friend Jessica Sawyer, the mother of his son, along with many great aunts, uncles, and second cousins. He also leaves behind his dog Buzz, who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his family, Lee was predeceased by his grandfather, Dennis M. Horton, who was a father figure to him.

Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a celebration of life ceremony to follow from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
