Lena A. Padula

COLONIE – Lena A. Padula, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, August 24, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Domenica Cicala and Frank Cannone, and stepdaughter of the late Domenico Indelicato.
Prior to getting married, Lena worked for a glove factory in Albany. She was so fast at her job, the company reduced her pay so she would not be making so much more than everyone else. Lena also worked for 27 years at the family business, the Pizza Nook in Colonie. She loved working there and years later could still remember most of the customers by name and what they ordered. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Vincent Padula; sons Vincent (Jeanne) Padula and Frank (Nancy) Padula; daughter Josie (Geoff) Turner; grandchildren Vincent, Dominic, Joshua, Avery and Caleb Padula, and Shawn, Peter (Glorimar), and Alexis Turner; Sarah (Bert) Huiest; Tom (Dulcie) and Rocco (Nicole) Semeraro, great-grandchildren Alexander Huiest, Anthony and Gianna Semeraro; bother Anthony (Lee) Cannone; sisters Paulie Fleszar and Elsie Trimarchi, Sister-in-law Eleanor Padula; brothers-in-law Dale Goodall, and Louis (Marie) Padula and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Lena was predeceased by her sisters Josie Goodall and Rosie Gaglioti; brother Sal Indelicato and his wife Joan; brothers-in-law Bernard Fleszar, Joseph Trimarchi, Antonio Padula, and Tony and his wife Isabella Padula, daughter-in-law Lena M Padula and grandson Andrew Padula.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, and then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, where are Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels, Colonie. Memorial Contributions may be made in Lena's name to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or to a charity of your choice.
