Delmar- Lennae Christine Pettit was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1962, and was a gift to her parents and her older sister. She left us peacefully on February 12, 2017.
Lennae never let Down Syndrome hold her back from enjoying life to the fullest, all while singing, dancing and imagining life as a fashion designer. Her friends in Omaha, from Special Olympics and her PPA Club, will remember her pink bowling ball and love of good food. One of her favorite hobbies was collecting other people's pens, and if caught, she would declare she was keeping it as "a souvenir." Her dad, Walt Pettit, predeceased her in 2012, and Lennae moved with her mom, Darleen Pettit, to Delmar, New York to be near her sister, Stacy Pettit. For the past several years, Lennae has enjoyed attending her day program at WWAARC, where she captured everyone's heart. Even with Alzheimer's disease, Lennae maintained her strong sibling rivalry and joy at irritating her sis, giving her "raspberries" and calling her several very inventive names whenever their mom wasn't looking.
In addition to her mom and sis, Lennae is survived by her "favorite" brother-in-law Eric Molho, and by her nephews, Graham, Dylan and Lucas Molho, whom she adored. She is also survived by her wonderful dog Nick who stayed by her side, and her cats, Abbie and Sammy.
Lennae's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at WWAARC, and Dr. Guptill's office and Hospice for providing excellent care and needed support.
