Lennart Monson

Schenectady – Lennart H. Monson, 75, passed away at his residence on Tuesday April 8, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn, to the late Gustavo and Rut Monson.
At the age of 12 Lennart's parents immigrated to Linkoping, Sweden and after their passing Lennart settled back in The United States in Jamaica, NY.
In 1967 Lennart moved to the Schenectady area and began working as a machinist at General Electric Company. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Union and retired in 1999 after 31 years of service.
Lennart was predeceased by his longtime companion of 40 years Anna MacDougal in 2011. He was affectionately known as step dad to her children; Charles & Donna MacDougal, Marge MacDougal and Grandpa Lenny to her grandchildren; Jill & Matthew Rash, Charles & Julie MacDougal and great grandchildren, Phillip, Breanna, Matthew, Jared, Merrick and Liam. In addition to Anna's family, Lennart is also survived by relatives in Florida.
A graveside service for Lennart will be held on Monday April 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
