Leo Eberle

COLONIE – Leo Eberle, 88, of Colonie, entered into the arms of his Lord on Monday January 24, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Newtonville and was the son of the late Leo and Jean Eberle.
Leo was an electrician for many years with Sawyer Electric and Globe Electric, retiring in 1983. He spent twenty five years in Inverness, Florida where he had served as a deacon at First Christian Church. Leo returned to the Albany area in 2008. He enjoyed reading, walking and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Rettinger Eberle, his daughter Kathleen Anderson and his sisters, Ann Neubauer, Florence Sikorski and Mae Wolfstitch.
He is the husband of Marjory Streeter Eberle. Leo is the father of Linda (Anthony) Abate of Pittstown and Robert (Cheryl) Eberle of Colonie. He is the grandfather of Tony Abate, Rachel Abate, Cassie Anderson, Brianna Eberle and Tyler Radzyminski. Stepfather of Irene Shaulis and Walter Decker. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his feline companion, Whispy.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Brunswick Church, 42 White Church Lane, Troy, NY 12180 in memory of Leo Eberle.
