Albany- Leo E. Godin Jr.,92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Olive and Leo E. Godin Sr. Leo is predeceased by his wife Jewell Godin.
Leo was an avid outdoorsman through and through, he was a member of Albany Area Bassmasters, and a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School class of 1949. He was a lifelong resident of Albany, who dedicated his life to loving and taking great care of not only his family but his friends. He was very fond of frequent trips fishing on Lake Ontario and Oneida Lake. As well as frequent deer hunting adventures with his son Leo, his grandsons Douglas and Lee, and his dear friend Rick. Those who knew Leo can attest to his one of a kind nature, he was always right by your side whether it be for simply enjoying one's presence through quality time or in times where his help was needed regardless of the severity. May you all feel the warmth and joy that he brought into the world every single day, rain or shine.
Leo is survived by his children Leo E. Godin III (Allison Turner) and Jacqueline Godin. He was the loving "Gramp" to Douglas Godin, Leo E. Godin IV and Luke K. Godin.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 9:30am-11am at New Comer Cremations& Funerals, 343 New KarnerRd. Colonie, NY 12205. A graveside service will follow the calling hours at Albany Rural Cemetery.
