Guilderland - Leo (Lindy) Ranalli passed away at his home on Saturday, March 29, 2014 after a long illness. He was 83 years old.
Born in Schenectady, NY on April 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Dominick and Maria Ranalli. He is survived by the love of his life, Marie E. (Pasquariello) Ranalli, his wife of 60 years.
Leo served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from February 1951 to November 1952. Following his honorable discharge from the service, Leo was a member of the Upstate New York Operating Engineers Local 106 as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1989.
In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his siblings, Benedetta McCadden, Russell Ranalli, Albert Ranalli, Dominick Ranalli, Tony Ranalli, Lucy Cornelius, Jean Cornelius and Margaret Ranalli.
In addition to his wife, Leo is survived by his son, Robert (Donna) of Guilderland, NY and a daughter, Cheryl (Speedy) Niedhammer of Rotterdam, NY; four grandchildren, Nick and Kristina Ranalli and Eric and Jim Niedhammer, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Leo will be Wednesday April 2nd at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY. Calling Hours will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment to St. Cyril & Method Cemetery, 1476 Dunnsville Road, Schenectady NY .
