ALBANY - Leocadya "Lottie" J. Keukelaar, 93, beloved wife of the late Maynard L. Keukelaar, entered into eternal life on October 19, 2009 on her birthday surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Schenectady on October 19, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Ratka) Kempisty. As a young girl she grew up in Amsterdam, NY and then moved to Albany. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lottie is survived by her son, Harry H. Ford, Jr. (Laureen) of Houston, TX; her daughter, Carol J. (Ford) Connolly (J. Patrick) of Colonie; her grandchildren, Deborah A. Brady (Greg) of Houston, TX, Robert H. Ford (Lauren) of Rockville Centre, LI, Russell K. Ford (Kelly) of Houston, TX, Kelli J. Connolly of Colonie, Courtney L. Ford of Clifton Park, Nicole J. Kennedy (Nick) of Guilderland, and J. Patrick Connolly Jr. of Colonie and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Florence Rynski of Niskayuna and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert Ford and her brother, Edmond Kempisty.
Lottie's favorite pastimes were playing the organ, painting pictures and doing charitable work. She was a 60 year active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 where she was past president and instrumental in starting bingo; a member of 8 & 40 Salon 121, member of the Polish Community Center and longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Sheehey Palmer VFW Post where she served as a chaplain for 30 years. She was also a longtime communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
