Chatham - Leon W. Brown Sr., 72, passed away on November 20th, 2021.
He was born January 8, 1949. Son of the late Carlton H. and Norma Marie (Rivers) Brown.
Leon was a proud Veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved playing guitar and singing country music with his mother, brother, sisters, and uncles. He drove a taxi in Albany for 48 years and was beloved by all his fellow taxi drivers.
Leon is survived by his beloved wife, Lee Catlin Brown; son, Leon W. Brown Jr.; brother, Charles and wife Melony Boniface; stepdaughter, Tammie Paul Polinski and grandson, Matthew Seeloff Jr.; stepson, Lyle Bliss and his wife Tricia and their children, Nevaeh and, Leon's best friend, Aiden; nephews, Danny, Terry, Lyle, Kyle, Joey, Glen, Mark, and Tommy; and nieces Chrissy, Dawn, Lisa, and Jennifer.
Leon is predeceased by his mother, Norma Marie Rivers; father, Carlton H. Brown; wife, Sharon Welch Brown; brothers, Terry Brown, Jimmy Boniface, Tommy Boniface and sisters, Carol Brown and Deb Shutter.
Calling hours will be held on December 1, 2021 from 10am -12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. A service will follow calling hours, beginning at noon.
