GLENVILLE-Leon F. Morse, 72, of Saratoga Road in Glenville, NY died on March 8, 2014 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 17, 1941 in Benson, VT.; he was the son of Leon and Evelyn (Schmerhorn) Morse. He was raised in Albany and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1961.
Leon served his country as a proud U.S. Army and New York Army National Guard Solider with over 26 years of service. In 1966, he married his loving wife Virginia (Poteralski) Morse. Leon and Virginia lived in Rotterdam, Schenectady and Glenville throughout their 47 years of marriage.

He actively supported his sons as a Boy Scout volunteer. He loved taking family vacations, camping trips, history, traveling and Church activities as a longtime parishioner of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Rotterdam. He was a friend to all he met. He was also an exceptional swimmer, bowler, baseball historian and lifelong fan of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was known as "Mr. Baseball" making frequent trips to Cooperstown, NY.
