SCHENECTADY – Leon "Mouse" Woodbeck, 74, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 16, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Cobleskill, he was the son of the late Elmer and Ethel (Blanchard) Woodbeck. He retired from the Capital District Transportation Authority where he worked for twenty-two years. Leon was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed camping with his buddies, spending time at the mall on Thursday's with his retired CDTA friends, driving his golf cart with his pet dog "Katie" and yard sale shopping with Aunt Dee. Along with his parents, Leon was predeceased by his brothers, Howard, Orben and Ralph, his sisters, Ruth and Betty and his infant daughter, Ann Marie Woodbeck.
Leon is survived by his beloved longtime companion and best friend, Frances M. Gallo. He is the father of Randy Woodbeck and Kelly (Mike) Madonna; grandfather of Cal and Jenna Zaborowski and Ciera Madonna. Leon is the loving brother of Elmer "Woody" Woodbeck, Frances (Roger) Sheldon and Charlotte McLasky. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and his own personal "Elf", Sherry Magiera.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
