Leon Vincent Tucker received his wings and went home to be with his lord on June 17, 2015. Leon was born on November 20, 1949 to the late Estelle Parker and John Tucker in Albany, New York. Leon was educated in the Albany Public School system. He was baptized at the age of 10 at the Union Missionary
Baptist Church and later on in life he recommitted himself to the lord and united with the Wilborn Temple First Church of God in Christ. Leon served as an usher for several years and took pride in being of service.
Leon was employed with the New York State Higher Education Services, Corp. for 21 years and was also a dedicated employee with the Wal-Mart Corporation. Reluctantly Leon retired in May 2015, due to a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer, a battle that he courageously faught with his wife, family and close
friends by his side. Leon was educated in a vast array of subject matters and interest. As an adult, Leon continued his pursuit of knowledge and received several exceptional awards in higher education culminated by a Degree in Paralegal Studies. Leon, who was affectionately called "Tuck" by many, enjoyed sports and excelled in basketball and baseball. Anyone who knew Tuck, knew that he was a serious and skilled card player. They also knew that his abilities at being a word-smith, made him undefeatable in the game of Scrabble.
Leon leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 14 years, and his son Markeem (Ebony) Ryan, 7 stepchildren, Frederick (Tamara) Sumner, Jr., Raekena Sumner, Rheana (Bertram) Goodbee, Donya Edmonds, Duwayne (Mary) Tucker, Michelle Tucker and Azure Tucker. One loving sister, Barbara Parker, 3 brothers, Gary (Lisa) Parker and two brothers Jeffrey Tucker and Rheem Tucker who preceded him in passing. One uncle, Herbert (Edmonia) Parker of Boynton Beach, Florida. A very special cousin, Patricia Redmond, many grandchildren, and a host loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Leon loved his grandchildren dearly and they too loved their "Pop Pop" dearly. He will truly be missed by them and forever in their hearts.
