Leonard Paul Bossard Jr. ("Rick" ), 74, of Albany, NY passed away on Thursday, November 26th 2020 at Albany Medical Center after a brief, sudden illness. He was born on June 18th, 1946 in Albany, NY.
On July 6th 1968, Rick married Lynn Bossard. They were married up until the time of Rick's death - a total of 52 years.
He also served in the Army during wartime in Vietnam from 1966-1968 and was honorably discharged. After returning from the Army, Rick got a job with New York State, where he worked until he retired in 2001.
Rick had many hobbies that he enjoyed throughout his life. He was an avid movie watcher, he loved to read, and he enjoyed listening to music, most of all classic rock. He loved motorcycles – especially Harleys – and liked to ride. For many years, he kept himself occupied with collecting & selling sports cards - baseball, basketball, football, hockey. He also got into collecting coins and other various forms of money later on in life.
Rick loved to be outdoors – whether it was going golfing, camping, traveling the US, or even just landscaping his property at home. He enjoyed working with his hands and occasionally did woodworking in his younger years. He also enjoyed crafting & making jewelry for his wife or loved ones. Rick had a great sense of humor and seemed to always be joking about something. He loved to laugh (and make other people laugh), and liked to entertain himself with many comedy shows & movies.
Rick is survived by his wife Lynn; his three children: Adam, Jesse, and Brian; his three grandchildren: Timmy, Eva, and Casey, and by his sister, Beatrice. Rick is predeceased by his parents, Leonard Sr. & Helen, and his older sister, Eileen.
Memorial services will be held at a later date, to be determined.
