Leonard Devito

SCHENECTADY – Leonard J. DeVito, 73, of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2004 at St. Clare's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. He was born in Schenectady and lived in Schenectady for all of his life. Leonard was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He worked for Western Electric, Air Master Aluminum Siding as a district Manager and then for Schenectady County from where he retired in 1987. Leonard is the beloved husband of Mary Jane DeVito. He is the devoted father of David DeVito and his wife, Denise and Daniel DeVito, all of Schenectady and Jill Kennedy and her husband, Steve of Alpharetta, GA. He is the cherished grandfather of Kaci and Connor Kennedy. Leonard is also survived by close family friend, Mary Lou Pedone.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Leonard J. DeVito.
