Leonard J. Tomchon

Rotterdam- Leonard J. Tomchon, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late John and Veronica Tomchon. Leonard was the devoted husband to Nancy T. Tomchon. They were married 14 wonderful years.

At the age of seventeen, Leonard enlisted in the United States Aircorps where he proudly served until his honorable discharge. He was a brilliant engineer and went on to open and own his own metal fabrication company until his retirement.

Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family.

Leonard was a truly amazing person with the purest heart a man could have. He had a way of making everyone feel safe and loved. Leonard couldn't walk into a room without it lighting up with smiling faces upon his arrival.

In addition to his wife, Leonard is survived by his loving children, Elizabeth, James and Benjamin; seven cherished grandchildren; and many friends.

The family would like to thank officers, Sgt. Alderdise and PTl McCrum for the compassion and kindness they provided to the family.

Calling hours will be held Saturday December 3, 2022 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, NY 12205 from 12pm to 2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.
