Leonard V. Damiano, Jr.

COLONIE – Leonard V. Damiano, Jr., 73, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, in the loving arms of his wife Sharon and with his family by his side. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Leonard V. Damiano Sr. and Helen Damiano. Lenny has resided in Colonie since 1988. He served in the New York State Army National Guard for nine years. He was co-owner of Len & Joe's Auto Sales in Schenectady for thirty years. Lenny was a life member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge #2157, a member of the 210th Armor Association and a certified New York State Motor Vehicle Inspector.


Lenny is the beloved husband of nearly twenty-five years to Sharon A. (Metz) Damiano. He is the father of Dennis (Marley) Damiano, Stefanie (Dan Cameron) Damiano and the late Leonard V. Damiano III and Amy Damiano Ray. He is the cherished step-father of Kelly M. (David) Giminiani and David (Keiko) D'Agostino. Lenny is the "Poppa" of Dominique Damiano, David R. Giminiani and Seth, Brent and Miles D'Agostino. He is the brother of Peter Damiano, Mary Damiano-McGraw and Patricia Busch. Also surviving are many loved nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Leonard V. Damiano, Jr.
