Troy- Leonor Negron, 82, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday June 19, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on April 8, 1930 and has resided in the Troy area for over 25 years.
Leonor was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a devoted foster mother. She enjoyed cooking, dancing salsa, the ocean and entertaining her loving family. Leonor had a unique ability to always be positive and always spoke well of others. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her welcoming home and soft spoken, loving disposition.
Leonor was predeceased by her husband, Pablo Negron Sr. She is the beloved mother of Dalia Negron, Pablo (Nancy) Negron Jr., Caridad Negron and Jeannette (Aretus) Cosby. She is the cherished grandmother of Errin, Marques, Michelle, Pablito, Shaina and Dara. Great grandmother of Arnel, Zahara, Jaden and Jaylyn.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Joseph's Church, Third & Jackson Streets, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Leonor Negron.
