In Loving Memory of Lerod D. Randolph, 1965-2021
Lerod D. Randolph, 56, of Albany, NY, suddenly passed away on November 18th 2021.
Lerod was born on November 7th 1965, to Barbara Randolph in Albany, NY.
After graduating from Albany High School in 1983, Lerod went on to study Political Science at The State University of New York at Albany, where he graduated in 1987.
Lerod was known for his steadfast work ethic; at age 13 he began his first job at a neighborhood convenience store, Howard's, and never stopped working since. His most prominent positions were as an Examiner for Albany County Department of Social Services — which he held for 10 years, (2003-2013) — and as a Specialist for the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, (2013-2021). Lerod built a strong network of friends through his work and was celebrated for his depth of knowledge and his boisterous sense of humor.
Despite Albany always being his home, Lerod was a citizen of the world at heart, keeping informed with politics and world news constantly. In his free time, he enjoyed caring for his cat Bandit and watching the Dallas Cowboys' football games — he and his siblings shared an intense passion for the team and often watched and talked about the games together.
Lerod is survived by his mother, Barbara Randolph, his grandmother, Lula Bell Randall, his uncle Donald Randall, his older sisters Renay Randolph and Benita Randolph (Erick Thomas), his younger brothers Stacey Randolph (Lakesia Chalmers-Randolph) and Scott Randolph, his nieces Laquenta White, Shaquasia Thompson, Shamiya Jones, Imani Randolph, Dasani Adams (also his goddaughter), Saige Randolph and Sydney Randolph and his nephew Xavier Randolph. He is also survived by his great niece, great nephews and a host of other family and friends.
On Thursday December 2nd, visiting hours (9am-11am), followed by a funeral service (11am) will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
