Schenectady – Leroy Proulx, 78, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Ellis Hospital.
Leroy was born in Tupper Lake, NY the son of the late Homer and Lorraine (Foster) Proulx. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Leroy and his family moved to the capital district in the late sixties and have called it home since. He was a Steam Fitter, work that took him all over the country. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid woodworker. Leroy was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Shirley (Vaillancourt) Proulx in 2006, and his daughter, Deborah Lyons in 2004.
He is survived by his children: Gary Proulx, Richard (Peggy) Proulx, Mitchell Proulx and Jamie (Debbie) Proulx, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers Louis (Marilyn) Proulx and Roger (Juanita) Proulx and brother-in-law Richard Vaillancourt.
