COLONIE- Leslie C. Hughes, age 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late James and Elaine Hughes. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Marcia Bobik and nephew Mark Hughes.
Leslie was her father's primary caretaker in the twilight of his life. She spent the rest of her time taking care of her cats and her beloved horses: Baker and Rio. She was an avid collector of all things: jewelry, stamps, Breyer Horses, anything Disney and Star Trek, not to mention all the barn strays over the years. Leslie was an excellent baker and loved all things chocolate, Godiva especially. She loved to travel, documenting her journeys along the way. Following in her mother's footsteps, she was obsessed with tracking her family genealogy as far back as she could. She even claimed to have found a distant familial relation to more than one U.S. President.
She is survived by her brother, David Hughes; nieces: Amy Ovitt and Megan Hughes; great niece, Isabella Ovitt; great nephews: Rickey Dickinson and David Ovitt. Also survived by many other relatives and friends.
