Leslie A. Liebig passed away on July 19, 2023. He was born on July 9, 1953 to Horace and Helen (Gulewicz) Liebig in Schenectady, NY. He graduated from Schalmont High School in 1971. While attending high school, he earned his Private Pilot's License. He enlisted in the Coast Guard after graduation and served at Coast Guard Air Stations in Alaska and Cape Cod as a radio/navigator on helicopters and received several commendations for perilous at-sea rescues. After his honorable discharge he attended and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College and then began his career with IBM as a computer technician at the chip plant in Essex Junction, Vermont.
Along with flying single engine planes, Les loved skiing and 40-mile bike rides. He also enjoyed sailing on Lake Champlain, and canoeing having built his own 3-man canoe.
He was predeceased by his parents; and is survived only by his sister Pauline (Paul Bono) Liebig of Clifton Park.
