Lewis J. Lemoine

October 22, 1930 — February 27, 2013

COLONIE – Lewis J. LeMoine passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Eugene and Marie LeMoine. He worked for the Highway Dept. in the Town of Colonie for thirty-five years. Lew was appointed Deputy Highway Superintendent in 1966 and was elected Highway Superintendent in 1981 where he served until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Verdoy Volunteer Fire Dept. for sixteen years until joining the Boght Volunteer Fire Dept. where he was a life member, a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 for fifty-two years and the Knights of Columbus in Latham. Lew enjoyed woodworking, gardening and especially helping others.


Lewis was the beloved husband of the late Mary Corida LeMoine and Dolores LeMoine. He is the devoted father of Timothy J. LeMoine of Colonie, Louis J. (Merril) LeMoine and the late James L. LeMoine and step-father of John Malaski of Cohoes. He is the brother of Arthur LeMoine of New York City, NY. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, Desireé, Louis Jr., Adrienne, Corey, Tyler, Nicole and Dana.


Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Diamond Hill Resident Council, 100 New Turnpike Road, Troy, NY 12182 in memory of Lewis J. LeMoine.
