LATHAM – Lewis L. Fabozzi, 92, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012. Born in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Ralph and Lena Fabozzi and the loving husband of the late Dolores R. Budka Fabozzi. Lew was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from SUNY Albany as a campus police officer. He was a communicant of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, then St.Mary's Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Lew loved tending to his tomatoes, walking and oil painting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandson. Lew is the beloved father of Patrice (John) Wagner of Averill Park and Lucinda Fabozzi of Latham. He is the proud grandfather of Brandon Fronk. Also surviving is one brother, John Fabozzi and a number of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam to celebrate Lew's incredible life. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the rescue group his daughter Patrice is affiliated with, Purrfect Companions, Inc., 501 Second St., Albany, NY 12206 or to his daughter Lucinda's adoption agency, Bethany Christian Services, 410 Troy Schenectady Rd., Latham, NY 12210 in memory of Lewis L. Fabozzi.
