SCHENECTADY- Lillian D. Martin, 82, of Schenectady, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 20, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. She was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Frank and Caterina Villanova. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2005.
She is survived by four sons, Richard C. Martin Jr. and his wife, Rebekah of Burnt Hills, Anthony J. Martin and his wife, Janice of Colonie, Guy O. Martin of Schenectady and Paul F. Martin and his wife, Susan of Pattersonville; a sister, Catherine Ruzzo; eight grandchildren Hannah, Paul, Cory, Daniel, Amanda, Bethany, Melissa and Rachel; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Micah, Keira, Sophia and several nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a homemaker. She is best remembered by family and friends for making the world's best spaghetti sauce. For many years, spaghetti dinners on Thursday with her family and beloved sister in law Iola and brother in law Fred was cherished and always ended with her famous homemade desserts.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday September 29, 2012 from 11 am to 1 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 1:00 on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
