Lillian "Molly" Donohue, 86, passed away at her home on January 5, 2017 with her husband by her side. Born in Lansingburgh, NY on April 20, 1930, she was the daughter of Andy Dolan Sr. and Elsie (Smith) Dolan. She graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. She met her husband Daniel George Donohue Jr. and they married on January 20, 1952. Molly was also very close with her father and mother-in-law Daniel George Donohue Sr. and Amy Donohue. She and her husband settled in Albany, NY and together raised two children.
Together with her husband, they went on vacations to Cape Cod and Canada where her mother-in-law was from. She spent much time at many sports events supporting their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Molly enjoyed watching the Yankees and even the NY Jets. She was famous for her chili, her numerous and sometimes humorous greeting cards she sent and her frequent but short phone calls just to quickly say hello and see how everyone was doing. She was a member of the J. E. Zaloga Post 1520 Ladies Auxiliary.
Molly recently conquered lymphoma, keeping her sense of humor throughout her treatments. She laughed at her husband and hers matching "haircuts". During her most recent illness her husband stayed by her side caring for her and she continued to ask how everyone else was doing and continued with her great sense of humor.
In addition to her husband of nearly 65 years, she is survived by her daughter Donna Chillemi (Michael McCarthy), her son Daniel and Mare Donohue; her grandchildren Sebastian (Seb) Chillemi II (Claudine), their children: Sebby, Breanna and grandson Antonio (Tony) Chillemi; her brother Pat Dolan Sr. and sister-in-law Irene Dolan who was married to her late brother Bill. She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews and her beloved grandpups -- Ninja and Zia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Daniel George and Amy Donohue; son-in-law Sebastian Chillemi I; brother Andrew (Bud) Dolan and his wife Gloria; brother William (Bill) Dolan Sr.; sister Elsie (Sissy) Craig and sister-in-law Dorothy (Dot) Dolan (married to Pat).
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Ginsburg for the long years of medical care he provided Molly and for the Albany Community Hospice for their at-home care over the last couple of years -- in particular, Dr. Miller, Bonnie, Jennifer, Loretta and Modesta.
