Lillian Elizabeth Doran (Griego) born October 14,1939 entered into eternal peace on November 01, 2021. She was undoubtedly welcomed by her parents, Joseph F. Doran and Lillian Doran (Bailey) and many other family members in what was surely a glorious reunion.
In her 82 years, Lillian touched the lives of many and accomplished great things. She was never content to sit and watch the world go by. Lillian was an active advocate for those in need; she always loved unconditionally.
Lillian's beauty in mind, body and spirit was a gift to the world and especially to those who knew her. She lived an exciting and adventurous life. She was a fabulous musician, she enjoyed great and loyal friendships, her career was multifaceted and rewarding, and she traveled extensively. Lillian was widowed twice; she had two great loves of her life. The father of her children, Robert J. Griego of Santa Fe, NM and Frank (Pete) Thompson of Green Island.
The true joy in Lillian's life came from being with her devoted children and grandchildren. Her children, Robert J. Griego of Voorheesville, Elizabeth G. Johnston of Watervliet, Jennifer G. Patnode of Watervliet, and Susan L. Ruddy of Mansfield, MA will be forever grateful to her for all that she was to them. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. Lillian valued family and faith above all.
Lillian is survived by her children, her brother, Joseph S. Doran of Rochester, her sister Jane Bordzol of Wilmington, DE, her beloved grandchildren, Robbie, Sean, Zacharry, Corbin, Calum, Bailey, Emily, Alex, and Olivia as well as 8 great grandchildren (with one more on the way). Lillian was known by the name Gigi or sometimes, "the Geege". This name was not only used by her grandchildren, but by many of the adults who knew her as well. So for now, we all say, "So long Gigi, we love and miss you! Until we see you again."
Services for Lillian will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the New Comer Funeral Home at 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY 12189. Calling hours are from 12:00pm - 2:00pm with a brief prayer service at 2:00pm.
