GUILDERLAND – Lillian E. Rivenburg, 90, entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2011 at Atria Shaker. Born on August 9, 1921 in Germantown, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Bareika.
Lillian graduated from the Germantown High School and Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She enjoyed her career of many years of service to others as a Registered Nurse. Lillian always cherished her family and holiday entertaining. She was a very special grandmother to Gary and AnneMarie. Her energetic spirit and love of travel was greatly felt among those that were blessed to be called family and friends. Lillian was a long-time member of the McKownville United Methodist Church, Albany. She will be dearly missed.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband and soulmate of more than 60 years, Clyde Rivenburg.
Mrs. Rivenburg is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Sandra) Rivenburg of Niskayuna; grandchildren, Gary (Jody) Rivenburg, AnneMarie (Christopher) Castle, Thorpe (Aimee) Doran, Kimberly Doran, and Katy (Keith) Herrington; great grandchildren Nathaniel and Camden Spiewak, Emily and Riley Fredericks, Chance and Charley May Herrington, Rachael and Danielle Rivenburg, and Elle Rose Doran; loving nephew and niece Robert (Virginia) Bareika and Brenda Bareika, and great nephews Robert (Barbara) and William Bareika.
The family would like to thank the kind and loving caregivers of Atria Skater as well as Avila Independent Living Community.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Friends and family may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Viewmont Cemetery, Germantown.
