COLONIE- Lillian K. Orsini, 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
Lil was born in Albany, NY on March 13, 1925 to the late Ignatius and Anna Kunicka. In 1948 Lil married the love of her life and her St. John's high school sweetheart, Joe Orsini. On July 10th they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Together they raised one son, Michael. Lil was a professor of Library Science at SUNY Albany for over 20 years. She retired as Associate Dean of the School of Library Science. Lil will be remembered for her love of knitting, reading, and ceramics. Her passion in life was her family and friends.
Lil is predeceased by her sister, Helen (Alfred) Panucci.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Orsini, her son, Michael (Kelly) Orsini, and her grandchildren, Justin and Kaitlyn Orsini.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner, Albany, NY 12205, on Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
