Guilderland- Lillian Dankhoff Simmons, 91, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 15, 2015, after an extended illness. She was born in Troy and was the daughter to the late Walter H. Dankhoff and Ada A. DeLair Dankhoff of Wynantskill and the sister to Walter F. Dankhoff (deceased 2011).
After marriage to devoted husband John T. Simmons (deceased 2012), the family eventually relocated to Binghamton where Lillian and Jack raised three children: daughter Karen (deceased 2015), wife of George Mitchell, Schenectady, NY, sons Thomas (Deborah) Simmons, Granbury, TX, and Edward (Lorrie) Simmons, Angola, IN. She was loved dearly by her grandchildren: Jilayne (Carmine) Cimetti, Hull, MA, Lea (Anthony) Casale, Poestenkill, NY, Lana (James) Scheckton, Altamont, NY, Matthew Simmons, Mansfield, TX, Nicholas Simmons, Granbury, TX, Matthew (Ariane) Spidel, Noblesville, IN, and Mitchell (Jennifer) Spidel, Senads Ferry, NC. She is also survived by great grandchildren: Alessandra, Logan, Noah, Michael, Madeline, Adrick, Nicholas, Tia, Addison, and Myles.
Lillian received her MA in Philosophy from SUNY Binghamton at age 57. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, taught CCD, was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and volunteered at Family and Children's Society in Binghamton.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Christ The King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave, Albany, NY 12203, at 10:00 am. Lillian will be joining her husband John in eternal rest at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday, October 7, 2016, at 2:00 pm.
