Albany, N.Y. - It is with great sadness and love in our hearts that we remember Linda Loraine Burnash, who passed away, surrounded by her loving family at St. Peter's Hospital. Linda was born on July 18, 1952 in Glendale, California. She and her family moved to Upstate New York when she was in High School. She attended Guilderland High School and it was there where she met the love of her life, Michael Burnash. On December 12th, they would have celebrated 54 beautiful years of marriage. Linda postponed her career to raise her two girls, Jennifer and Julie. She later began a long and rewarding career in the insurance industry for over 30 years. Her greatest joy and most cherished moments were being with her family.
Linda poured her heart and soul into creating a family bonded by unconditional love, support and devotion. She treasured every moment with her husband, her girls, her beautiful grandchildren and all of her family members. Her legacy lives on in each of them. She carried on countless Swedish traditions of her ancestors and created many more new traditions that will always be preserved. Linda's presence and smile were like no other. She was always the voice of calmness, reason, safety and pure love. Linda created a home and a life for her family filled with incredible joy. Family traditions and celebrations meant the world to her - from weekend camping trips at Schroon River, to annual trips to Maine and Disney World. She enjoyed baking, getting on the floor to play with her children and grandchildren for hours on end, crocheting, making special clothes, teaching Sunday school and vacation bible school, leading both of her daughter's Brownie troops and everything that has to do with the Holidays and birthday celebrations for her entire family. From Christmas to Valentine's Day, she made a wonderful celebration for everyone to enjoy.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Burnash of Guilderland, her daughters, Jennifer (William) Seamon, Julie (Eric) Lansing, her three grandchildren, Robert Michael Tropiano, Anna Patlyn Lansing and Michael Bernard Lansing. She is also survived by her loving sister, Carol Magnan, and was very close to her nieces Tammy Spenziero and Kimberly (Kevin) Donvito, who affectionately referred to her as "Aunt Binny." She has many adoring nieces, nephews, additional extended family members and life-long friends, including her "breakfast club." Linda is predeceased by her father Robert, mother Loraine, grandmother Justine and step-father Joseph O'Brien. She is also predeceased by her dearest friend, Carolyn Nichols. She has been reunited with them all. The family would like to sincerely thank Linda's physicians, Dr. Z. Khiangte, Dr. Ronald Hoenzsch, Dr. Fahad Farooq and many of the nursing and support staff at St Peter's Hospital who cared for her so compassionately and supported her family.
