Linda A. Cambareri, 77, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on April 5, 2024.
Born in Troy, Linda was a 1964 graduate of the former Vincentian Institute in Albany. She held an associate's degree from the Junior College of Albany.
She retired in 2006 as a Medicaid auditor for the New York State Department of Health. She began her state government career at the State Department of Social Services in the 1970s.
Linda and her loving husband Carmen, enjoyed vacationing in Aruba every year from 1989 until 2015. She also loved crossword puzzles, slot playing, and Cape Cod, not necessarily in that order.
She was actively involved in all four of her grandchildren's formative years, almost never missing a concert, ball game, or Christmas show.
She was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Cutturini of Hadley, and her sister, Maria Playford of Durham, N.C.
Survivors include her husband, Carmen; her son Eugene Loparco Jr. (Elizabeth) of Altamont; her daughter, Denise Ferrari of Guilderland; four grandchildren, David Loparco, Emily King, Erik Ferrari, and Elena Ferrari; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10AM to 12PM, with a service to follow at 12PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to the Arthritis Foundation or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
