Linda A. Flynn

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Linda A. (Thompson) Flynn, 55, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. 

Born June 22, 1969 in Albany, NY, she was predeceased by her father, Albert Thompson and survived by her mother, Elsa Thompson (Nilsen). 

Linda was a Colonie Central High School graduate. She spent most of her career working with NYS at the Thruway Authority and Department of Financial Services (previously Insurance Department) Before joining the state, she worked at The Spare Room.

When she was not working, Linda enjoyed supporting her children in sports. You would find her at the baseball field, working the concession stand or in the gym watching basketball from the bleachers always with a diet Pepsi in her hand. 

Linda is survived by her 4 children: Whitney, Hannah, Joseph, their father Michael Flynn, and her youngest daughter, Katie Kowalik and her father Thomas Kowalik. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Gary Persons), several cousins and close friends. 

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, located at 63 Mountain View Ave, Albany, NY 12205. Friends are invited to call from 10:00 a.m. to noon for visitation, with the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
