Linda Joy Hanifin, 70, wife of the late Brian Hanifin of Guilderland, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospital with her children by her side.
Linda was born on January 10, 1953 to Dorothy and Stewart Christianson in Mitchel Field, NY. After graduating from Cairo High School, she went on to earn her Associate's Degree at Columbia-Greene Community College. Linda was a school bus driver in Saugerties and then in Florida where she and Brian lived for several years before returning to New York. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by daughter Rebecca Spalten (Steven) of Guilderland and son CJ Hanifin (Juliana) of Cumming, GA; 2 grandsons Ryan and Ethan Spalten; mother Dorothy Christianson of Saugerties; twin sister Bonnie Kudlacik (Richard) of Cairo, sister Diane Friedmann (Michael) of Saugerties, brother Eric Christianson of Highland; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Brian, she was predeceased by her father Stewart.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Peter's Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, May 21 from 12 - 3PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment following Monday, May 22, at 10:30 am in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Memorial donations in Linda's name may be made to JDRF or The Humane Society of the United States.
