MALTA — Linda K. Howie, 74, of Malta, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born Linda Kay Kenyon on Jan. 19, 1946, she was the youngest child of Harold and Daurice Kenyon. She grew up in the Oswego area and graduated from Mexico High School.
On May 4, 1968, she married Arthur Howie, with whom she recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. They moved in 1976 to Ballston Spa, where they raised two daughters.
She was a homemaker for many years before moving into the workforce, first spending a few years as a cafeteria monitor at Milton Terrace Elementary School and then becoming a bank teller, a profession she stayed in until her retirement from Ballston Spa National Bank. She was also a member of the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and listening to Kenny Rogers. She was an affectionate and selfless person with a quick wit, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Linda was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry, and her brother, Harold Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur; her daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Stephen Young of Malta; and her granddaughter, Lavender, whom she cherished. She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly Fravor and Dolores (Joe) Wallace, and her nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
