WILTON, NY – Linda J. Harwood of Gansevoort, formerly of Niskayuna, became one of God's angels on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. She was born in Niskayuna on August 22, 1946, daughter of the late John and Norma Koza. She graduated from Mohonasen High School. She attended Spencer Business Institute and after graduation she began her career working for the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. Following the birth of her son, she was a dedicated stay-at-home mother. She returned to worked for a number of companies in retail, real estate and office management. Most recently, she worked ten years for the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation until her retirement. Linda will be remembered for her bright smile and kindness to others. She was a volunteer in the gift shop at St. Clare's Hospital and was a skilled needlework artist making knitted newborn caps, booties and blankets for premature babies. She also enjoyed needlepoint and would make a variety of items to be given away to family and friends. Linda was known for her baked goods made from scratch. She was an avid reader. In addition to her loving husband of 41years, William "Bud" Harwood, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Laurie) Harwood of Clifton Park. She was the proud "Grammy No-No" of a precious granddaughter, Lindsey Rose. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy (Doug) Grabo of Rotterdam, her niece, Lorinda (Wayne) Richardson of Altamont and her nephew, Mark Grabo of Rotterdam. Linda is also survived by her great-nieces, Jennifer Richardson and Danica Shelby Grabo, her great-nephew, Ian Richardson; brother-in-law, Richard (Debbie) Harwood and her cousin, Terry (Suzanne) Jandreau. Linda will be sorely missed by her devoted canine companions, Mary Margaret, Mikey and Timmy. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff on A3 at Saratoga Hospital and to Community Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Linda's two "Special Angels", Connie Plummer and Holly Hudson for their loving care and compassion during Linda's illness.
