SELKIRK

Selkirk- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda (Allendorph) McMillen, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Linda passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 at the age of 71. Linda was the daughter of the late Glenn and Marilyn Allendorph of Guilderland. She was a dedicated and loving wife to the late Bert, her “boyfriend”, husband and love of her life who passed in 2021.

Linda is survived by her daughters: Rachael (Jon) Rogers and Rebecca (Tom) Paddock; her beloved grandchildren: Jonathan and Ainsley Rogers, Riley Ludwig, Jenna and Samantha Morrissey; her siblings: Andrea (Michael) Cooper, Glenn “Dutch” (Rhonda) Allendorph, and James (Lisa) Allendorph. She leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews: Adam (Patricia) Cooper, Allie (Mark) DeFilippo, Angelina Harpster, Stewart (Nicole) Allendorph and Mary Allendorph, Crosby, Timothy and Brigid Cooper, and Watson Allendorph; several aunts and uncles, including Reverend John Burkhard. She was well known as Aunt Linny to many who loved her.

She is predeceased by her sister, Mary Allendorph and her niece, Grace Allendorph.

Linda graduated from Guilderland High School in 1972. She attended Maria College before beginning her career in hospitality. She worked at the Turf Inn, but found her home working at the historic Albany restaurant La Serre. She was gifted with crafting and artistic skills which led to her creating the successful Etsy shop Landy Knits- known for newborn props, customized hats and other hand knitted items. These items were sold to people around the world.

Linda will be remembered for her extraordinary love of Bert, Maine, trips to Disney and her cats. She also enjoyed playing elaborate pranks on April Fools Day with friends. She devoted many hours to caring for her loved ones in their later years. More recently, she was very involved in organizing and planning GHS alumni events and reunions. She enjoyed her retirement with many weekly outings, filled with family and lifelong friends.
