ROTTERDAM, NY – Linda I. (Lavery) Purdy, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on August 9, 1938 in Colonie, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Dorothy Lavery. As wife, mother and homemaker, she was the heart of our family. We will remember her love for us, her wit, humor and joy of learning. She was a life-long student of philosophy who found the world around her fascinating, and who instilled in us the courage to be ourselves. Linda is the beloved wife of 51 years to Ralph T. Purdy. She is the devoted mother of Gilbert Purdy of Lake Worth, FL, Jeffrey Purdy of Richmond, VA, Kathleen Hill of Albany and Mari-Lynn (Brian) Osburn of Quinton, VA. She is the sister of Craig (Shirley) Lavery of Scotia, Darlene Novak of Schenectady and Warren (Joyce) Lavery of Colonie. Linda is the grandmother of Paul Engel, IV of Albany, Rachel Purdy of Rochester and Cheri Jones of Schenectady. Also surviving are a host of extended family and friends.
