Linda R. Slomka

COLONIE- Linda R. Slomka, 67, of Colonie, passed away on Monday August 2, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in New York City and is the daughter of Gertrude Heron and the late Raymond Heron. Linda grew up in Franklin Square, Long Island and has been an Albany area resident since 1982. She was a member of the Albany area Astronomers and a communicant of St. Clare's Church. Linda enjoyed polka dances and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph J. Slomka. She is the loving mother of Joseph J. Slomka Jr. Linda is the sister of Michael Heron her twin Raymond Heron. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Funeral services and interment will be in Long Island. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Linda R. Slomka.
