Linda Rondeau, 71, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in California, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Funderburk and Margaret Scott. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Lopez and Donald Funderburk and her loyal canine companion, Xena.
She loved the beach, reading, gardening, aquariums, crocheting, family gatherings, and more recently, watching The Family Feud every night with her son Shawn.
She worked for the federal government for over 30 years, which include the V.A. Hospital, Watervliet Arsenal and later retiring as a Travel Specialist for the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Albany, where she received countless awards for her dedication and service. A special thanks to her coworkers, Lynda, Amber, Nicole, Rhonda and Noble for their caring and compassion which enabled her to work as long as she could, at a job she absolutely loved.
Linda is survived by her devoted children, Robert (Sondra) Rondeau, Ericka Rondeau, Scott (Lois) Rondeau and Shawn Rondeau; her beloved grandchildren, Devin Rondeau, Ryan Coonan, Ava Rondeau, Raegan Rondeau and Luke Rondeau; siblings Sylvia Griffith and Ronald Funderburk; many nieces and nephew; and her "adopted" daughter Amber O'Donnell.
Sincere gratitude to Sonya, April, Alexis, Sonja, Jen, Kay, and Kelly at Evergreen Commons for their unconditional love and care they showed our Mom. A heartfelt thank you and appreciation to Kristy Burg for not leaving Mom's bedside for days, knowing her children could not be with her due to recent visiting restrictions.
To her children and grandchildren, she was an endless source of love and support. She was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her and will be dearly missed.
