June 3, 1956 — April 6, 2013

ROTTERDAM – Linda S. Kirker, 56, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen Minkler. Linda lived in Rotterdam for most of her life before moving to Florida in 2012. She was a graduate of Mercy High School. Linda worked for New York State Office of Mental Health until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed swimming, traveling, movies and family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Benjamin Kirker. She is the devoted mother of Brian Kirker; loving sister of Ellen "Fran" Crawford, Connie Minkler and Mary Elizabeth Youngs. Also surviving are four nieces and two nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Linda S. Kirker.
