SCHENECTADY – Lisa M. Burns, 39, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Born in Niskayuna, she was the daughter of Marie and Stephen Burns.
Lisa previously worked as a clerk for Price Chopper. She was a loving caregiver to many family and friends' children. Lisa's greatest pride was creating beautiful specialty cakes for those closest to her. Everyone wanted an original "Lisa Cake" for their special occasions.

Along with her parents, Lisa will be missed by her son Justin Burns of Schenectady; brothers David and Jeff Burns of Schenectady; grandmother Elaine Miakisz; nephew Isaac Rivenberg of Fonda-Fultonville, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lisa was predeceased by her grandparents Mae and John Wood, and Thomas Miakisz.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. A memorial calling hour will precede the service from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk Opportunities, C/O the ACT Program, 201 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY 12307 in Lisa's name.
