Lisa Marie (Ayers) Ashworth (45) passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 17, 2014. Born April 19, 1968 in Glens Falls N.Y., She was the daughter of the late Mary & David Ayers of Colonie N.Y. She was a graduate of Shaker High School, class of 1986. Lisa recently graduated Suma Cum Laude from the College of Saint Rose with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, and was pursuing a graduate degree from S.U.N.Y at Albany. She was living her dream as a special education teacher at Van Schake Elementary School in Cohoes.
Lisa is the cherished wife of Frederick Brian Ashworth for 18 1/2 years and the devoted mother of David and Jeffrey Ashworth. In addition she is survived by her cousin "sister" Vicky (Steve) Doren, beloved nephew Jason, and nephew (godson) Nicholas, her birth mother Pam Goodrich, her dear sisters Michelle (Christian) Monberg, Danielle (Kusal) DeSilva, and Aimee Lafrance, her maternal grandmother Ruth and late grandfather John Goodrich, as well as 8 aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
Lisa was an inspiration and a positive role model as a wife, mother, teacher and friend. She was eternally optimistic about life and all its possibilities. Her perpetual smile, warm glistening eyes, and endearing sweetness, captivated everyone she met. Her boundless passion for primary education was only eclipsed by her fathomless love for her immediate and extended family.

Memorial calling hours will be held between 4PM and 6PM on Friday, April 25th at The Niskayuna Reformed Church 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road, service will be held at 6pm.
