Schenectady- Elizabeth "Liz" Kulzer, 65, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, on Sunday, March 27,2016 after her long courageous battle with lung cancer with her daughters by her side. She is the daughter of Dorothy and the late William Darling.
Liz was born in Schenectady on September 9, 1950 and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. She was the beloved mother of Cindy Ketcham (Gerald Celeste Jr.) of Corinth and Tracy (Craig) Levernois of Slingerlands. She was the grandmother to Alyssa and Amanda Petteys of Corinth and Logan and Blake Levernois of Slingerlands. She is also survived by her siblings, Dottie Trent (Jesse) of Kentucky and Richard Darling (Joanne) of Pattersonville as well as 13 nieces and nephews.
She is also predeceased by her sister Barbara Feltt.
She married Francis "Chip" Pepper in June of 1971 and then in the 90's remarried the late Donald Kulzer.
Liz was a member of the St. Luke's Church choir in Schenectady and found great comfort with Father Isopo. She treasured the abundant love of her family and friends and enjoyed listening and singing music.
The family would like to extend their hearts of gratitude to the exceptional love and care given by the Scotia Mansion Assisted Living Facility and to the Schenectady County Community Hospice who made Liz's final days comfortable and peaceful.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Liz's best friend Kay Campbell of Scotia who filled her days with love and laughter. They would also like to thank Leonard Clark of Schenectady for his warmth and compassionate care given to Liz.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 31 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205. A funeral ceremony will follow the calling hours starting at 7:00pm.
