SCHENECTADY - Lloyd H. Ruch, 90, of Schenectady, passed away on Monday, August, 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 5, 1927 in Albany to the late Alfred and Jennie Ruch.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during WWII. He worked at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory for 45 years before retiring. Lloyd was the owner of The Corner Pub and Reggie's Tavern. Lloyd was the life of the party and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved and adored him more than anything. Lloyd was a kindhearted, giving man. He was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, provider and dear friend. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his children, Sherrie (Nels) Peat, Kevin (Jackie) Ruch, Karen (Kevin) Brown and Lisa (Rodney) Peck; grandchildren, Rick, Staci (Jon), David (Joanne), Dana, Renee (Alison), Ryan (Lana), and Zara Luna; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and 4 step-children.
Lloyd was predeceased by his soulmate, Anna Franklin and a brother, Roy Ruch.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Inurnment will take place at 12pm on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
