COLONIE-Lois K. Hardy, 77, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family.
Lois was born in East St. Louis, IL, to the late John and Eula Kloetzer on June 29, 1940. Lois served her country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. It was at boot camp, in Parris Island, SC, that she met and married the love of her life, Claude Hardy. They were married 50 years. Together they raised four children. Lois received her associate's degree from Jefferson Community College, and worked for the Department of Defense as a clerk. She will be remembered for her love of crocheting; quilting; attending church at St. Clare's; puzzling with her grand-daughter-in-law, Alyssa; taking care of her grand-doggie, Maya "Honey-bunches"; and watching the Celtics and Orangeman Basketball games with her grandson, Dylan. He was the light of her life.
Lois is predeceased by her beloved husband, Claude.
She is survived by her children; Patrick(Joanne), Annette, Margaret(Robert Norman), and Brenda, her grandchildren; Bobbi Jo, Robert, Stephen(Theresa), Elizabeth(Eric), Alexander(Natasha), and Dylan(Alyssa), 10 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Sandra; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
