ALBANY-Lois May Ellsworth, 69 of Albany passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital. Lois was born in Albany, NY the daughter of the late Robert Marshall and Jane Elizabeth Tedford Gundrum. She was a resident of Albany and formerly of Averill Park. Lois was employed as a nursing assistant at Albany County Nursing Home for many years. She loved to dance and sing. In addition, Lois enjoyed traveling, especially time spent in Cape Cod and camping in Petersburg, NY, where she enjoyed the outdoors. She traveled to New Hampshire to attend NASCAR races and was an avid local sports fan, supporting the Valley Cats.
She is survived by her companion George "Butch" Bennett of Albany; her first husband John V. Toombs of Albany; her three daughters Maribeth (Troy) Eckenrode of Cortland, OH, Shawn A. Toombs of Delmar, Tammi J.(Leonard "Chip") Zimmerman of Niskayuna; her grandchildren Mark J. Foster, Jr. and Nicole A. Foster, both of Delmar; her sister Roberta Williams of Watervliet; her brother Robert Gundrum of Clifton Park and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her second husband William E. Ellsworth, II in 2004.
Services will be private.
