COLONIE – Lorene T. Ferraro, 87, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Irene Decker.
Lorene was legally blind and suffered many physical disabilities in her life. She was an advocate for the blind and will be missed. Lorene was a very giving individual who enjoyed knitting baby hats and crafts, listening to taped books, her outings with the senior group and her doll collection.
Along with her parents, Lorene was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, James Ferraro, and sister Florence Joyce.
She is survived by her sisters Marge Williams of California and Ruth Harlan (Jack) of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
