Lorenzo Scavio, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Lorenzo was one of ten children born in Italy to the late Lorenzo and Maria Scavio. He was the devoted husband to Vincenza (Gallina) Scavio. They were married over 53 years. Lorenzo and Vincenza lived in Brooklyn where he worked as a Teamster with Peerless Imports. After raising their three sons, they moved their family to the Albany area. Together with their sons they opened Paesan's Pizza in Albany and grew and became a household name.
Lorenzo was a member and a communicant of Christ The King Church.
He enjoyed playing cards, working and spending time with his family. He loved coming home and having his plate of pasta with his parmesan cheese made by Vincenza.
Lorenzo was predeceased by his grandson, Lorenzo Gregory Scavio.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vincenza, his three sons, Lorenzo Scavio, Vincent (Jodi) and Franchi (Daneille) Scavio. He is the adored grandfather of Ava Rose, Lorenzo, Simona, Vincent, Rocco, Sebrina, Brooklynn, Sienna and Hudson. He is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews and close family members mostly residing in Italy.
Calling hours will be held at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, New York on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 11:30 pm to 12:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at the church. Entombment will follow the Mass at Memory Gardens, Colonie, New York.
