Loretta Lumpkin

GUILDERLAND, NY – Loretta E. Lumpkin, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Malone, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Marion (LaMay) Garrand. Mrs. Lumpkin had resided in Guilderland for the last 17 years. Loretta enjoyed antiques and was an avid game player. She spent a life time caring for her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them. Loretta was the beloved wife of the late John E. Lumpkin. She is the devoted mother of Michael Lumpkin of Canandaigua, Lori (William) Cain of Altamont, Robert (Kathryn) Lumpkin of Baldwinsville, Joe-Henry Lumpkin of Stephentown and Julie-Mae (David) Cammer of North Adams, MA. Loretta was one of ten children and the sister of Jeanette Whitlatch of New Bern, NC, Elizabeth Boyd of Auburn, WA and the late Elaine Walbridge, Milton Garrand, Francis Garrand, Ethel Dame, Armand Garrand, Alice Reed and Isabel Burdick. She is the cherished grandmother of Morgan Cain, Emily Cain, Amiee Lumpkin, Zachary Lumpkin, John Harry Lumpkin, Kyle Lumpkin and Meredith Lumpkin. Many, many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. Loretta will also be missed by her many friends at the Omni Senior Living Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 10:00 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
