GLENVILLE- Loretta Slavin Lombardo, 91, passed away on Saturday April 24, 2010 at Glendale Nursing Home.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late John and Mary Colfer. Loretta worked for many years at New York State Higher Education. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edmund Slavin and Paul Lombardo; her son Ramon Slavin and her siblings, William Colfer, Catherine Cunningham, Jean Orkovitz, James Colfer and Gerald Colfer.
She is survived by her sister, Marion Sautin and her brother John Colfer; her daughter in law, Nora Slavin and her grandchildren, Paul, Lorrie and Elizabeth Slavin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A sincere expression of gratitude to the staff and caregivers on C1 at Glendale Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to Loretta. A special thanks to Hospice for their support and care in her remaining days.
The Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9:00 at St. Helen's Church, 1803 Union Street, Niskayuna. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Unions Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Loretta Slavin Lombardo.
